The sanctioned amount totals Rs 1,789 crore for the financial year 2026-27.
Comprehensive Funding Breakdown and Allocation Details
This substantial allocation incorporates approximately Rs 1,129.55 crore in pending dues from the previous financial year 2025-26, addressing outstanding financial obligations. The distribution of funds across beneficiary categories has been meticulously structured to ensure equitable support.
- Scheduled Castes: Rs 536.65 crore has been specifically earmarked for this category.
- Scheduled Tribes: An allocation of Rs 45.53 crore is designated for tribal communities.
- Other Categories: The remaining Rs 1,207.60 crore is allocated for other beneficiary groups.
Deputy CM Maurya's Directives for Implementation and Transparency
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has issued clear instructions to concerned officials regarding the proper utilization of these funds. He emphasized the critical importance of adhering to prescribed guidelines and ensuring all payments are processed within stipulated timeframes.
"Timely payment to MGNREGS workers remains a priority of the state government," stated Deputy CM Maurya. "Whether it is wage payments, material costs or administrative expenses, all categories of payments must be processed without delay."
To prevent financial irregularities, Maurya specifically directed officials to implement measures that would eliminate any instances of duplicate payments. He further mandated that all expenditure details be compulsorily recorded on the NREGA Soft portal, creating a comprehensive digital audit trail.
Enhanced Payment Mechanisms and Financial Safeguards
The Deputy CM has directed that the entire allocated amount be transferred directly to workers' bank accounts through the National Electronic Fund Management System (NEFMS). This digital transfer mechanism is designed to streamline the payment process and reduce intermediary handling.
To ensure maximum transparency in fund disbursement, payments will be executed strictly based on Fund Transfer Orders (FTOs) and actual expenditure incurred. This approach creates multiple verification checkpoints before funds are released, significantly reducing the potential for misappropriation.
The approval of this substantial funding package represents a crucial step in strengthening rural employment infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh while addressing previous financial commitments through the inclusion of pending dues from the 2025-26 fiscal year.
