Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict instructions to all district magistrates to ensure that all safety standards are rigorously followed during excavation work under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He emphasized that roads and pits dug during the process must be filled immediately after the work is completed.
Field Inspections Mandated
The Chief Minister has directed DMs and other senior officials to conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with these directives. "Any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated," the CM cautioned, underscoring the importance of accountability in the mission's execution.
Government's Commitment to Clean Water
A state government spokesperson stated that the Yogi government is continuously working to provide clean drinking water, from urban areas to rural regions. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, crores of people are benefiting. The official further warned that agencies and contractors responsible for delays, incomplete work, or negligence will face penalties and blacklisting.
Priority Resolution of Complaints
The CM also directed officials to ensure that complaints related to water supply, leakages, and excavation registered on the Jal Samadhan portal are resolved on a priority basis. Achievements in Rural Water Connections
In Uttar Pradesh, more than 2.50 crore rural households have already been provided tap water connections, the spokesperson added. Nearly 100% of the target has been achieved in the Vindhya and Bundelkhand regions, marking a significant milestone in the state's water supply initiatives.
