Vijayapura district police on Monday apprehended 12 individuals in connection with the brutal murder of six persons that occurred last Friday. Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi confirmed the arrests to TOI. The accused have been identified as Mahasidda Srimanth Biradar (44), Mahesh Laxman Biradar (22), Raju Chandrakant Ugar (20), Yallappa Mahadev Arakeri (25), Kallanagouda Eshwargouda Patil (65), Layappa Nenappa Biradar (65), Subhas Mahasidda Biradar (21), Ravasab Avaduth Biradar (20), Gajananda Bhutale Biradar (20), and Sanju Mahadev Arakeri (31), all residents of Govindapur. Additionally, Rajakumar Siddarama Koli (28) and Malakari Hanamanth Koli (18), both from Maharashtra, were also arrested.
Legal Proceedings Underway
SP Nimbargi stated that the arrested suspects were produced before a court in Indi. A test identification parade will be conducted soon to further strengthen the case. The murders took place on Friday afternoon in Govindapur village following a dispute that escalated into violence, resulting in the loss of six lives.

Police are continuing their investigation to uncover the motive behind the killings and to determine if any other individuals were involved. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the case, and authorities are confident that the evidence will lead to a successful prosecution.
