12 Injured in Clashes in Haryana's Nuh After Bakrid Prayers

GURUGRAM: At least 12 individuals sustained injuries in clashes between opposing factions in two villages of Haryana's Nuh district following Bakrid (Eid al-Adha) prayers, according to police officials on Thursday.

First Incident in Nizampur Village

According to news agency PTI, the first altercation occurred in Nizampur village, where the conflict reportedly stemmed from a longstanding Panchayat election dispute. Six people were injured in this incident. An argument between a group led by Jamil and another led by Ramzi after morning prayers quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

Eyewitnesses reported that both groups hurled stones at each other and employed sticks and axes during the clash, causing widespread panic in the village. Police from Akera police station arrived at the scene upon receiving information and successfully brought the situation under control, pacifying both factions.

Inspector Virendra Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Akera Police Station, stated that neither party has filed a formal complaint as yet. He added that the situation is being closely monitored and that appropriate action will be taken once a complaint is received.

Second Incident in Singar Village

The second clash took place in Singar village between two groups over an old rivalry. A minor disagreement quickly escalated into a violent brawl, leaving at least six people injured, police said. Upon receiving information, Bichor police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

All injured individuals were admitted to the Punhana Community Health Centre, where they are currently receiving treatment. According to doctors, the condition of one of the injured remains critical. He reportedly sustained a serious head injury and has been referred to Shaheed Raja Hasan Khan Mewati Medical College in Nalhar.

Inspector Sukhbir, SHO of Bichor police station, confirmed that no complaint has been received so far.
