Kanpur Minor Sexually Assaulted for Over a Year
A disturbing case of prolonged sexual abuse has emerged from Kanpur's Jajmau area, where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped repeatedly over the past year by her mother's live-in partner. The horrific abuse came to light when the brave minor finally confided in her mother about the ongoing trauma.
Mother Files Complaint After Daughter's Disclosure
According to police reports, the mother filed a formal complaint at the Jajmau police station after her daughter disclosed the abuse. The woman revealed that she had been in a live-in relationship with a food vendor after her husband left her eight years ago with their son. During this period, she worked as a labourer to support herself and her daughter.
The complaint detailed how the accused would forcibly assault the minor while the mother was away at work. The man allegedly threatened to kill the young girl if she resisted his advances or revealed the abuse to anyone. This constant intimidation kept the victim silent for approximately one year until she could no longer bear the trauma.
Police Action and Medical Examination
Jajmau police station in-charge Jitendra Singh confirmed that immediate action was taken based on the mother's complaint. "We have registered a case against the accused man and conducted the minor girl's medical examination," stated Singh. "The accused is currently absconding, and we have launched a comprehensive search operation to apprehend him."
The case highlights the vulnerability of children in complex family situations and the importance of creating safe environments for minors. Police authorities have assured that they are pursuing all leads to ensure the accused faces justice for his crimes against the minor victim.
