NEW DELHI: A dispute over minor issues allegedly turned violent in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area after an 18-year-old boy was stabbed by three juveniles, police said on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday, prompting a PCR call to the authorities informing them that a youth with a stab injury had been rushed to the hospital.

Victim Hospitalized with Knife Injury

The victim, identified as Naitik, was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital with a knife wound on his left thigh. During the inquiry, Naitik told police that the three boys, aged between 15 and 16 years, had a previous enmity with him and attacked him with a knife, a senior police officer said.

Police Action and Investigation

Based on the victim’s statement, police registered a case at Sultanpuri police station. "One of the accused, a juvenile, has been apprehended. Efforts are underway to trace the remaining two involved in the attack," the officer said. Police added that further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact motive behind the stabbing.

The authorities are also verifying the sequence of events leading up to the assault. The three juveniles, all residents of the same locality, allegedly targeted Naitik following a heated argument over a trivial matter. The victim is currently in stable condition, and doctors are monitoring his recovery.

Local residents expressed shock over the incident, highlighting concerns about rising juvenile crime in the area. Police have increased patrolling and are conducting awareness programs to prevent such incidents in the future. The apprehended juvenile has been sent to a correctional facility, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
