Over 200 LPG Cylinders Seized in Raisen District for License Violations

In a significant enforcement action, more than 200 LPG cylinders of varying capacities were seized from a commercial dealer's premises in the Mandideep area of Raisen district. The cylinders were found stored in the open, directly violating the conditions of the dealer's license, during an inspection conducted late on Saturday, as confirmed by officials.

Details of the Inspection and Seizure

District administration officials reported that a team inspected a commercial LPG dealership located at Sector-C, Plot No 15. During the inspection, they discovered 85 industrial cylinders, each with a capacity of 47.2 kg, kept in a truck on the premises. These cylinders had been received on March 13 and were intended for supply to the security paper mill in Hoshangabad. However, they were not dispatched and were instead improperly stored at the agency's location.

Additionally, the inspection team found 115 cylinders of 19 kg capacity and 10 cylinders of 5 kg capacity. Among these, 5 were filled and 5 were empty, all stored out in the open rather than inside the designated godown as required. Officials emphasized that storing cylinders in the open constitutes a clear breach of the license conditions issued to the dealer.

Immediate Actions and Legal Proceedings

The district administration promptly seized the 19 kg and 5 kg cylinders on the spot and registered a case against the dealer. The seized cylinders were placed in the custody of the dealer and moved to the godown for safekeeping. However, they cannot be sold or distributed until a final order is issued by the Collector's court, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

This enforcement action was carried out under the directions of Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma. The team comprised officials from the revenue and supply departments, along with local police, highlighting a coordinated effort to uphold safety regulations and prevent potential hazards associated with improper LPG storage.
