The body of a 24-year-old man was discovered in bushes near the Adivasi Club in Mango on Sunday, according to police. The deceased has been identified as Vikas Singh, a painter and resident of Sankosai under the Mango police station limits.
Brother Recounts Last Moments
The victim's brother, Akash, stated that Vikas left home on Saturday evening to visit his nephew, who lives near the Adivasi Club in Ulidih. After meeting his nephew, Vikas began his return journey but never arrived home. Akash said, "We tried to contact him throughout the night over phone, but failed. His body was recovered from bushes near the club."
Police Investigation Underway
The officer in charge of the Ulidih police station, Md Shariq Ali, confirmed that the body was sent to MGM Hospital for an autopsy. He noted, "It bore grave injury marks visible on the head, probably the result of assault with a sharp-edged weapon. Investigation is under way to identify and arrest the accused."
Police are currently investigating the case and are working to identify the perpetrator. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The local community has been left shocked by the incident, as such violent crimes are rare in the area.
