Later on the same day, the trio was formally presented before the district and sessions court in Bhubaneswar. This step underscores the department's commitment to a prompt legal follow-up on such cases.
Commenting on the successful operation, Excise Superintendent Debasis Patel provided details on the intelligence-driven approach. Acting swiftly on this information, our team intercepted them and recovered the contraband," Patel stated, highlighting the proactive measures taken by his unit.
A Continued Fight Against Drug Menace
This seizure and the subsequent arrests are part of the ongoing efforts by the state's excise and police departments to curb the smuggling and distribution of illicit drugs in urban and semi-urban areas. Operations like these in prominent city localities send a strong message about zero tolerance for drug-related activities. The authorities have reiterated their focus on dismantling supply chains and bringing those involved in the narcotics trade to justice.
