Panipat Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhupender Singh on Tuesday awarded commendation certificates to 28 police personnel for their exceptional coordination, professionalism, and swift response in rescuing a kidnapped child. The team successfully freed the 12-year-old son of a thermal power plant Executive Engineer from kidnappers within just 11 hours of his abduction. During the operation, three accused, including a woman, were arrested. Two of the suspects sustained bullet injuries to their legs during an encounter with the police.
SP Praises Team's Dedication
SP Singh lauded the personnel for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to duty. He emphasized that the kidnapping of a child is an extremely sensitive crime requiring immediate action, accurate intelligence, and seamless coordination among various police units. 'The police team acted with responsibility, courage, and promptness to ensure the safe recovery of the child. Their success reflects the department’s commitment to public service and the safety of citizens,' he stated.
The SP highlighted that the operation was conducted under challenging circumstances, necessitating effective use of technical resources, intelligence inputs, and continuous surveillance. Through coordinated efforts, the team traced the accused and secured the child’s safe release.
Strengthening Public Confidence
Singh further remarked that such achievements bolster public trust in the police force and demonstrate the effectiveness of professional policing. He urged all officers and employees to maintain the same level of dedication, honesty, and commitment in future assignments to further strengthen law and order and ensure prompt justice and security for the public.
After being discharged from the hospital, the rescued boy visited the SP’s office with his family. His mother Sunita, an Executive Engineer, and father Sameer, Deputy General Manager at GAIL, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the SP and the district police for ensuring their son’s safe return. The SP interacted with the child and his family, inquired about his well-being, and encouraged him to move forward with confidence. Assistant Superintendent of Police Harshit Goyal and Deputy Superintendents of Police were also present on the occasion.

From CIA-II, Sub-Inspector Virender Singh, ESI Ashok, Head Constables Ravi and Sunny, and constables Vikas and Gajender received commendation certificates. From Matlauda Police Station, Sub-Inspector Surender, EASI Sanjay, Head Constable Pradeep, and EASI Rajesh were recognized. Constable Avesh from the Cyber Cell was also among the awardees for his contribution to the successful rescue operation.
