Three Additional Suspects Arrested in Sambalpur Murder Case
In a significant development in the brutal murder case of history-sheeter Kalu Bahadur, Sambalpur police have made three more arrests, bringing the total number of accused persons in custody to ten. The latest arrests occurred under the jurisdiction of Hirakud police station on November 3.
The newly apprehended individuals have been identified as Krish Behera (20) and Om Behera (22), both residents of sub-stationpada, along with Bishal Mahanand (20) from Bandhpada of Hirakud. Their arrests mark a crucial breakthrough in the investigation that began following the violent attack that claimed Kalu's life.
How the Accused Tracked Their Victim
Investigators revealed that the accused used mobile communication to coordinate their actions on the day of the incident. Through constant contact with co-accused Samir Behera, the three recently arrested individuals successfully tracked Kalu Bahadur's movements throughout the day.
Police have confirmed seizing three mobile phones that were instrumental in planning and executing the crime. The digital evidence gathered from these devices provided crucial leads that ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
The Brutal Attack Near Durgamandir Chowk
The murder took place near Durgamandir chowk when Kalu Bahadur was traveling with his friend, Satyaranjan Dhala. According to police reports, the attackers used multiple weapons including swords, batons, knives, and blades in the assault.
While Kalu Bahadur succumbed to his injuries during the violent attack, his companion Satyaranjan Dhala managed to escape with injuries. The sheer brutality of the attack and the number of weapons involved indicate the planned nature of the crime.
With these latest arrests, the total number of persons apprehended in connection with the murder has reached ten individuals. The investigation continues as police work to uncover the complete motive behind the killing and identify any additional persons who might be involved in the case.
