A heart-wrenching incident of kidnapping and murder has plunged a village in Sirsa district into grief. A four-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and killed in Rampura Bisnoiyan village under the Dabwali area. Her body was recovered on Wednesday morning from the tail-end of the Risaliyakhera canal near the village.
Police Arrest Main Accused, Family Levels Allegations
The police have claimed to have arrested the main accused in the case. He has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Moriwala village. Upon receiving information about the tragic incident, Nikita Khattar, the Superintendent of Police for Dabwali, and SDM Arpit Sangal promptly reached the spot to review the situation.
The victim's grieving family has raised serious allegations not only against the arrested Sanjay Kumar but also against neighbours Prem Kumar and Rajesh Kumar. In a powerful statement of protest and demand for justice, the family has announced that they will not perform the girl's last rites until strict action is taken against all the accused persons.
Chilling Sequence of Events Unfolds
According to the police investigation, the young child went missing on Tuesday evening while she was playing outside her house. During the probe, a disturbing sequence of events came to light. It emerged that Sanjay Kumar, who had come to the village to visit his sister, allegedly took the girl with him on the pretext of buying her something.
CCTV footage from cameras installed in and around the village reportedly captured the accused taking the child away on a motorcycle. He was accompanied by his 14-year-old nephew during this initial phase. Police stated that after travelling some distance, the accused dropped his nephew and continued alone with the little girl.
Investigators revealed that the accused later moved towards his own village, Moriwala, and hid in nearby fields. The search culminated on Wednesday morning with the recovery of the child's body, following which the police arrested Sanjay Kumar. He is currently being questioned by the authorities.
A Family and Village in Deep Shock
The deceased girl was the only child of her parents, Deepak and Pooja. She had recently started attending school, marking the beginning of her educational journey. Her father, Deepak, works as a daily-wage labourer, while her mother, Pooja, is also employed as a labourer. The brutal incident has left the immediate family and the entire village community in a state of profound shock and mourning.
The police have sent the body to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Authorities have confirmed that a further investigation into the case is actively underway.
