40 Masked Men Attack Student in Ahmedabad Hostel

In a shocking incident at Ahmedabad's prestigious LD College of Engineering, a student from Jammu was targeted by a large group of masked assailants who stormed the college hostel premises. The attack, which occurred on Friday night, has raised serious concerns about campus security and student safety.

The WhatsApp Argument That Sparked Violence

The trouble began with a heated exchange in a WhatsApp group where students were actively participating in discussions. According to the victim, a Jammu student currently enrolled at the engineering college, the online argument escalated when several students confronted him directly the previous day. During this confrontation, the student reported receiving explicit threats that prompted him to immediately leave the hostel premises for his safety.

The student demonstrated presence of mind by informing both the hostel security guard and a concerned professor about the threatening altercation. However, these precautionary measures couldn't prevent the subsequent violent attack that would unfold hours later.

Masked Mob Targets Wrong Victim

On Tuesday night, the situation took a dangerous turn when approximately 40 individuals with their faces covered entered the hostel building. The mob specifically targeted the Jammu student's room, but in a case of mistaken identity, they assaulted his roommate instead.

The attackers allegedly beat the roommate while he was sleeping, apparently confusing him with the original target of their wrath. The injured student, who also hails from Jammu, required immediate medical attention and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Disturbing video evidence circulating online shows the group entering hostel corridors and violently attacking a student inside his room. The footage corroborates the victim's account of the organized nature of the assault.

Police Investigation Underway

Gujarat University police officials have confirmed that while no formal complaint has been filed yet, the investigative process is actively moving forward. Police are currently recording detailed statements from the victim and other potential witnesses.

Law enforcement authorities revealed their comprehensive investigation plan, which includes examining CCTV footage from the hostel premises, analyzing mobile phone records, and scrutinizing the WhatsApp messages that allegedly initiated the conflict.

The Jammu student identified one attacker as a member of a student wing currently in his second semester, who was reportedly among those who initially confronted him. The investigation will determine whether this was a pre-planned attack and if additional students were involved in organizing the violent mob.

A police official stated that hostel authorities have been formally notified about the incident, and further action will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing inquiry. The case continues to develop as authorities piece together the sequence of events that led to this alarming breach of campus security.
