Major Accident on Pune's Navale Bridge Leaves Five Dead
A severe road accident on the Navale Bridge in Pune resulted in a tragic loss of life on Wednesday. Five individuals lost their lives after the car they were travelling in was crushed between two large container trucks. The violent collision caused at least two of the vehicles to catch fire, leading to a devastating scene.
Chaotic Scene and Emergency Response
Pune police and emergency services were immediately dispatched to the location upon receiving alerts. The response was significant, with multiple ambulances and fire tenders rushing to the Navale Bridge area to control the blaze and provide aid to the victims.
An officer from the Pune City Police provided further details, stating that the accident occurred near the Selfie Point on the highway within the jurisdiction of the Sinhagad Police Station. The incident involved a chain-reaction collision encompassing approximately eight vehicles.
Injured Rushed to Hospital for Treatment
In addition to the five fatalities, the crash left a trail of injury. About 15 people were injured in the multi-vehicle pile-up. Authorities confirmed that all the injured were promptly evacuated from the site and transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance for urgent medical attention.
