Massive Security Ring of 5,000 Personnel Deployed for Noida Airport Inauguration
A comprehensive five-tier security ring, involving nearly 5,000 police personnel, has been established around the Noida International Airport in preparation for its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. This extensive security architecture, coordinated with the Special Protection Group, encompasses the airport and the public rally venue, ensuring strict access control at all entry points.
Multi-Agency Security Deployment and Access Control
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh confirmed the deployment of gazetted and non-gazetted Uttar Pradesh Police personnel, alongside units from the Provincial Armed Constabulary, Rapid Action Force, Anti-Terrorism Squad, and Central Industrial Security Force. These forces are strategically positioned to manage security. At entry points, mandatory frisking, baggage screening, and identity verification are enforced, with door frame metal detectors installed and separate checking enclosures arranged for women attendees.
Anti-sabotage checks, bomb detection and disposal squad inspections, anti-mine sweeps, and full area sanitization have been completed prior to the event. Quick Reaction Teams remain on standby to respond to any emergencies throughout the inauguration.
Advanced Surveillance and Prohibited Zones
The entire area has been declared a 'red' zone, with drone operations strictly prohibited. Anti-drone teams are actively monitoring for suspicious aerial activity, while continuous social media surveillance is underway to counter misinformation and potential threats. Sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squads have been deployed to conduct thorough checks across the venue.
A dedicated control room oversees CCTV feeds from across the airport and rally premises, with police help desks deployed at key locations to assist the public. Coded entry passes, vendor and staff verification, and integrated command monitoring are in place, with phased crowd dispersal protocols ready for implementation after the event.
Unusual Riverine Patrols and Emergency Preparedness
Given the proximity of the Yamuna river, riverine patrolling has been deployed—an unusual measure highlighting the scale of the security operation. Emergency preparedness has been tightened in parallel, with National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force teams on standby alongside fire tenders and firefighting units.
Evacuation routes and assembly points have been clearly marked, and mock drills were conducted in the run-up to the event. Dedicated medical desks, ambulances, and a specially designated ambulance corridor are in place to ensure swift emergency response.
Traffic Management and Communication Systems
Traffic around the venue is being managed through a detailed diversion plan backed by real-time monitoring. Fifteen parking zones have been designated, with capacity for nearly 20,000 buses, cars, and two-wheelers. A traffic advisory was issued in advance to minimize disruptions.
Encrypted communication systems and a dedicated wireless network are being used to coordinate between all agencies. Officials stated that these arrangements aim to ensure the inauguration—one of the most significant infrastructure events in Uttar Pradesh in recent years—proceeds without incident, reflecting the high priority given to safety and security.
