A tragic road accident occurred in Thachancode near Aryanad on Wednesday afternoon, claiming the life of a 71-year-old man. The victim, identified as Lopez, a resident of Maruthamkuzhi in Thachancode, was returning home with essential items when a speeding delivery van collided with his motorcycle.

According to police and local eyewitnesses, the delivery van was traveling at high speed and attempted to overtake another vehicle. In the process, the van rammed into Lopez's motorcycle. The impact was so forceful that the motorcycle became lodged beneath the van and was dragged for nearly 10 meters before the vehicle came to a halt. The motorcycle was completely destroyed in the accident.
