NIA Arrests 9th Accused in Delhi Car Blast, Voice Note Pledging Jihad Recovered
9th Arrest in Delhi Car Blast Case, Jihad Voice Note Found

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough in the Delhi car blast case, arresting a ninth individual linked to the terror conspiracy. The accused, identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar, was taken into custody on Thursday after investigators traced him through a critical piece of evidence: a voice note pledging allegiance to jihad.

Voice Note Reveals Jihadist Pledge

Investigative sources revealed that the crucial evidence was recovered from the phone of another arrested accused, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay. In the voice note, Yasir Ahmad Dar is heard declaring his readiness to sacrifice his life for jihad operations. This audio recording became the key that led agencies directly to Yasir, establishing his involvement in the terror network.

The connection between the two men dates back to 2023, when Mufti Irfan reportedly met Yasir and recruited him for terror-related activities. Their association deepened around April 2024, when Mufti Irfan introduced Yasir to the alleged Delhi bomber, Dr. Umar Nabi. Following this introduction, Dr. Umar took charge of radicalizing Yasir, aiming to prepare him for executing a sinister plot.

Radicalization via Telegram and Conspiracy Details

According to sources, Dr. Umar Nabi systematically brainwashed Yasir Ahmad Dar to carry out fidayeen attacks across multiple Indian cities on behalf of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad. The radicalization process heavily relied on encrypted messaging platforms. Dr. Umar frequently shared radicalization material and videos with Yasir on Telegram, using the conflict in Gaza and citing "atrocities against Palestinians" as a motivational tool to incite spectacular attacks within India.

The NIA has formally charged Yasir Ahmad Dar under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. In an official statement released on Thursday, the agency confirmed that its investigations have clearly revealed Yasir's active role in the conspiracy behind the November 10 car blast.

NIA's Nationwide Investigation and Attack Aftermath

An NIA spokesperson stated that the agency, in close coordination with various central and state agencies, is continuing to move swiftly to unravel the complete conspiracy behind the terror attack. This recent arrest follows extensive investigative actions earlier this month, where the NIA conducted searches at the premises of several accused and suspects in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.

During these raids, authorities seized various digital devices and other incriminating materials. Prior to these searches, similar operations were carried out at the locations of the prime accused, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganie and Dr. Shaheen Saeed, in the Al Falah University complex and other places in Faridabad.

The tragic Delhi car blast on November 10 was triggered by Dr. Umar Nabi using explosives that the doctors' module had been meticulously amassing for a period of two to three years. The devastating explosion resulted in the death of 11 persons and left several others injured, marking a severe security incident that the NIA's probe continues to investigate thoroughly.
