ACB Arrests Two Govt Officials for Bribery in Nagpur

Nagpur: In two separate operations, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two government officials red-handed while accepting bribes in Nagpur district on Sunday.

First Operation: ESIC Clerk Caught

A junior clerk working at the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) dispensary at Pachpaoli was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000. The complainant alleged that Harshal Arun Kasbe (37) demanded Rs 3,000 to clear his wife's medical reimbursement bill of Rs 32,000. After verification, the ACB laid a trap and arrested him while accepting the bribe.

Second Operation: Revenue Inspector Arrested

In another operation at the Saoner Tehsil Office, revenue inspector Pravin Hargovind Meshram (47) was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The accused had demanded Rs 75,000 to clear a mutation case. He had already received Rs 50,000 earlier and was caught accepting the remaining amount in a meticulously planned trap.

Legal Action Taken

Cases have been registered against both individuals under the Prevention of Corruption Act at respective police stations. The operations were conducted under the guidance of senior ACB officers.
