Afghan Arrested at Goa Airport for Forged Passport

Vasco: Dabolim airport police on Sunday arrested an Afghan national for traveling on a forged Indian passport. According to police, Shanigaram Sriharsha, a wing in charge of the Bureau of Immigration at Goa International Airport in Dabolim, filed a complaint stating that Iwraj Hiro, an Afghan currently residing in Delhi, was caught while attempting to travel using a forged Indian passport under the name Anil Shukla, a native of Delhi.

Details of the Case

During the investigation, authorities discovered that Hiro was also in possession of his genuine Afghan passport. It was revealed that the accused had traveled in and out of India multiple times in 2009 and had renewed his Afghanistan passport outside India before re-entering the country on January 2, 2016.

Previous Fraudulent Documents

The authorities disclosed that Hiro had previously obtained an Indian passport fraudulently under the name Suresh Ahuja. He traveled to Goa via Bahrain from Russia. The accused has been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Passport Act, and the Citizenship Act.
