Major AGMUT Reshuffle Ordered by MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday ordered a major reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers belonging to the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre. The transfers, which take effect immediately, involve 21 IAS officers and 40 IPS officers, with several postings to and from Jammu & Kashmir.

Key IAS Transfers

Among the IAS officers, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (2009 batch) has been moved from Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh. Swati Sheemar (2023 batch) has been shifted from Jammu & Kashmir to Delhi. Saugat Biswas (2006 batch) has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu & Kashmir. Mamta Yadav (2021 batch) and Ishita Rathi (2022 batch) have been posted to Jammu & Kashmir from Delhi and Puducherry, respectively.

IAS officers posted to Delhi include Vivek Pandey (2003 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, Garima Gupta (2004 batch) from Mizoram, Pawan Kumar Sain (2005 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, Amjad Tak (2005 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, Ajay Kumar Gupta (2010 batch) from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DNH&DD), Awanish Kumar (2014 batch) from Lakshadweep, and Shweta Nagarkoti (2020 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh.

IPS Transfers to and from Jammu & Kashmir

On the IPS side, Vishnu Kumar (2019 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir. Other IPS officers posted to Jammu & Kashmir include Arshi Aadil (2019 batch) from Goa, Tikam Singh Verma (2020 batch) from Goa, K M Priyanka (2021 batch) from Chandigarh, Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, Deepak Yadav, Anand Kumar Mishra, and Satish Kumar from Delhi.

Several IPS officers previously serving in Jammu & Kashmir have been moved out. Rajesh Kumar Sharma (2014 batch) has been posted to Chandigarh, Tanushree (2017 batch) to Delhi, Deepika (2018 batch) to Puducherry, and Gaurav Sikarwar (2019 batch) to Goa.

IPS Officers Posted to Delhi

Among IPS officers transferred to Delhi are Vivek Kishore (1999 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, Sindhu Pillai A (2001 batch) from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chinmoy Biswal (2008 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, A Koan (2009 batch) and Jitendra Kumar Meena (2012 batch) from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Varsha Sharma (2010 batch) from Goa, Anil Kumar Lal (2013 batch) from Puducherry, Manjeet (2015 batch) and Geetanjali Khandelwal (2015 batch) from Chandigarh, and Satyawan Gautam (2016 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh.

According to an MHA order, the transfers are effective immediately, reflecting the government's ongoing administrative realignments within the AGMUT cadre.
