Agra Girl Found Dead in Tenant's Flour Container, Suspect Absconding
A tragic incident has shaken the city of Agra, where a seven-year-old girl who went missing on Tuesday afternoon was discovered dead inside a flour container in her tenant's room on Wednesday night. The discovery was made in the Tajganj area, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting widespread outrage.
Details of the Incident
The victim, identified as Pratigya, was a Class 1 student. She went missing on Tuesday, leading her family to file a complaint at the Tajganj police station. An intensive search was launched immediately, but initial efforts yielded no results. As the investigation progressed, police began to suspect the involvement of the tenant, Sunil Kumar, a 35-year-old man who worked in a shoe unit owned by the girl's father, Dinesh Kumar.
On Wednesday night, authorities broke open Sunil's room on the first floor of the house, where they made the grim discovery of the girl's body inside a flour container. DCP Syed Ali Abbas stated that there were no visible injury marks on the body, which has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Background of the Suspect
Sunil Kumar had been living as a tenant in the house for two years. According to the girl's uncle, Rajesh, Sunil often took the child out and had developed a rapport with her. However, tensions had arisen recently due to unpaid rent. Sunil had not paid rent for the past five months, prompting the family to lock his room and ask him to vacate. It was only after he paid Rs 5,000 as part of the dues recently that the room was unlocked, shortly before the incident.
The girl's father, Dinesh Kumar, alleged that Sunil lured the child with money and killed her. He demanded that the culprit receive the death penalty as punishment for this heinous act.
Community Outrage and Protests
As news of the incident spread, hundreds of angry residents took to the streets, blocking Fatehabad Road in protest. They demanded the immediate arrest of Sunil Kumar, who is currently absconding and on the run. The protests highlighted the community's frustration and grief over the loss of the young girl.
Police are continuing their investigation to locate and apprehend the suspect, while the family and local residents await justice in this heartbreaking case.
