In a disturbing incident that has raised concerns about public safety, a 47-year-old businessman was allegedly assaulted and robbed of his valuable gold chain by three unidentified men in the Thaltej area of Ahmedabad. The violent episode unfolded late on Sunday night, near the bustling Kaushal Complex, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Violent Confrontation
According to official reports from the Bodakdev police station, the victim, identified as Nishit Shah (47), who operates an air conditioning repair business from his residence, stepped out around 10 PM on February 16. Shah noticed a gathering near the complex and proceeded towards Tirupati Provision Store and a nearby burger outlet, where the situation quickly escalated.
The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that a man named Sagar, a resident of the Malav Talav area, allegedly instructed the crowd to disperse. When Nishit Shah objected to this, a heated argument erupted between them. Sagar then reportedly made a phone call, which prompted the arrival of a dark blue Swift car. Two unidentified men emerged from the vehicle, armed with sticks, joining Sagar in the confrontation.
Assault and Robbery During the Scuffle
The trio allegedly launched a vicious attack on Shah, using sticks and their fists to assault him. The brutal beating resulted in significant injuries to his left hand, back, and shoulder. During the violent scuffle, the assailants threatened to kill Shah, creating a terrifying ordeal for the businessman.
In the chaos of the assault, Shah's gold chain went missing, presumed stolen by the attackers. Additionally, his mobile phone was damaged in the altercation, further compounding his losses. The perpetrators fled the scene immediately after the incident, leaving Shah injured and traumatized.
Medical Treatment and Police Investigation
Following the assault, Nishit Shah sought medical attention at Sola Civil Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries. He subsequently approached the Bodakdev police station to file a formal complaint on February 17, detailing the entire harrowing experience.
The Bodakdev police have registered an offence based on Shah's complaint and have initiated a thorough probe into the matter. Authorities are currently investigating the identities of the two unidentified assailants and are working to trace the dark blue Swift car used in the crime. Further investigation is underway to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen gold chain.
