Ahmedabad Businessman Allegedly Assaulted in Dispute Over Place of Worship Construction
A 52-year-old businessman and respected community leader in Ahmedabad was allegedly assaulted during a heated dispute linked to the construction of a place of worship within a residential society in the Sabarmati area. The incident, which has sparked local concern, occurred on Friday and was detailed in a formal complaint filed with the Sabarmati police.
Details of the Alleged Assault
According to the complaint, the businessman, who is also a resident of the society, received a call around 11 AM from another society member informing him of a meeting at the society office. Upon arriving, he found several residents already present, along with the builder involved in the construction project and one of the builder's relatives.
The complainant alleges that as soon as he entered the office, the builder became visibly angry and began verbally abusing him. "He started speaking to me using abusive language," the complaint stated. When the businessman objected to this behavior, the situation escalated rapidly.
"When I objected, the builder came close and started hitting me in the face, while the relative also joined in, hitting me with fists and blows," the 52-year-old recounted in his complaint. He further alleged that he was repeatedly kicked and struck during the altercation, leaving him injured.

Following the alleged assault, the businessman immediately contacted the police control room to report the incident. The Sabarmati police have registered the complaint and are investigating the matter.
