Ahmedabad Car Theft: Bollywood-Style Silent Robbery in Naranpura
In a case that eerily mirrors scenes from the popular Bollywood film "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!", car thieves in Ahmedabad's Naranpura area executed a meticulously planned vehicle theft using a remarkably quiet and calculated approach. According to police reports, the criminals arrived in one SUV with the sole purpose of stealing another parked vehicle, showcasing a method straight out of cinematic heists.
The Complaint and Stolen Documents
The incident came to light when a Naranpura resident filed an official complaint with the Naranpura police station, reporting that his car had been stolen from outside his residence in the early hours of Monday. The complainant stated that he had parked the vehicle securely outside his house on the night of April 17. When he stepped out around 5 AM on Monday to pick up his brother from Shivranjani, he was shocked to discover his car was completely missing.
Despite conducting an extensive search of nearby areas, the owner could not locate his vehicle, prompting him to immediately approach the police for assistance. The stolen car contained several crucial personal documents belonging to the complainant, including his driving licence, Aadhaar card, and election card, all of which were taken along with the automobile, compounding the victim's distress and potential identity risks.
CCTV Footage Reveals Calculated Method
Police examination of CCTV footage from the area revealed the thieves' sophisticated and stealthy technique. The accused arrived at the scene in a similar type of vehicle. To avoid drawing any attention or raising suspicion, they deliberately refrained from starting the engine of the parked car immediately. Instead, in a move designed to maintain complete silence, the suspects physically pushed the parked car away from the location before making their escape.
The CCTV recordings clearly show the suspects covering their faces during the entire act, further indicating a premeditated plan to avoid identification. This method bears a striking resemblance to techniques often depicted in Bollywood films, where thieves ensure minimal noise to escape detection undetected.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have confirmed that a formal case of theft has been registered in connection with this incident. The Naranpura police have initiated a thorough investigation, beginning with the detailed analysis of CCTV footage from surrounding areas to trace the precise route taken by the suspects after the theft.
Police officials emphasized that this Bollywood-inspired silent pushing method is particularly concerning as it allows thieves to operate without alerting residents or security systems. The investigation remains active, with law enforcement agencies working diligently to identify and apprehend the culprits involved in this audacious crime.
