Ahmedabad Crime Branch Arrests Two in Two-Wheeler Theft

Ahmedabad: The local crime branch of Zone V has detected a case of two-wheeler theft registered at the Nikol police station. The LCB team arrested two accused and detained a minor in connection with the theft of gearless scooters from a showroom's godown in Nikol.

The complaint was filed by Dharmapal Chauhan, showroom manager and resident of Nava Naroda. In his complaint, he stated that 31 unregistered vehicles and their keys were stolen from the godown of a two-wheeler showroom between January 1 and April 1.

After receiving specific inputs, the Zone-5 LCB team arrested Shahid Sheikh, 19, a resident of Naroda Patiya, and Diguraj Rathod, 22, a resident of Viratnagar, and detained a juvenile. The cops recovered 26 stolen Honda Activa scooters, valued at Rs 24.70 lakh, and are yet to find the remaining five vehicles.

Probe revealed that Shahid and the minor worked at the showroom godown and allegedly stole the scooters at different times. They would then allegedly sell the stolen vehicles to Rathod for Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 each.
