Ahmedabad Guest House Targeted in Brazen Early Morning Robbery
A 57-year-old businessman in Ahmedabad has filed a formal complaint with the Bodakdev police station following a disturbing robbery at his guest house in the Thaltej area. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, involved unknown assailants assaulting staff members and making off with cash and valuables totaling approximately Rs 92,000.
Details of the Complaint and Business Owner
According to the police report, the complainant is Mulsingh Purohit, a resident of Ghatlodia. Purohit is the proprietor of Hotel Rajvanshi, a guest house situated near the Bhai Kaka Nagar bus stand in Thaltej. The establishment employs two staff members: Giriraj Meena and Devilaal Patel, who serve as managers.
Chronology of the Robbery Incident
The sequence of events began when Purohit received an alarming phone call from Meena at around 4:30 AM on Monday. Meena reported that several men had attacked him and stolen cash from the premises. Upon arriving at the guest house, Purohit was informed by Meena that at approximately 3:45 AM, two men entered the hotel requesting a room.
While escorting them to room number 203, the men allegedly overpowered Meena, assaulted him, and demanded money. Shortly thereafter, a third accomplice entered the hotel and threatened Meena with a knife, warning him not to raise an alarm. The accused then forcibly dragged Meena to the reception area.
Staff Response and Escalation
When Meena shouted for help, Patel awoke from the staff room. However, the assailants proceeded to break open the counter and a locker before fleeing the scene with stolen items. The loot included about Rs 2,000 from the counter, Rs 72,000 from the locker, a computer monitor, a television set, and two mobile phones belonging to both the hotel and the staff members.
Evidence and Suspect Identification
CCTV footage from the hotel premises has revealed crucial details about the suspects. The footage shows three individuals inside the hotel during the robbery, with a fourth accomplice positioned on the staircase. All four suspects subsequently escaped in a white car heading towards Thaltej.

The Bodakdev police have officially registered a case of robbery based on the complaint. Law enforcement authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter, examining the CCTV footage and pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in this criminal act.
