This intense altercation, which erupted around 10:30 PM on Saturday, involved members of two families traveling in separate vehicles after a dispute that originated from a personal relationship issue.
First Complaint Details: Allegations of Assault and Abduction
In the initial complaint filed with the authorities, a woman from Ahmedabad alleged that her husband had left their home on March 12 and failed to return. During her search efforts, she and her family discovered that he had traveled to Bhavnagar with another woman. Two days later, while waiting near Sanathal Circle on the SP Ring Road, they spotted his car and began pursuing it.
According to her official statement, when they reached the vicinity of the Hebatpur cut while driving from Shilaj towards Bhat circle, they signaled for the vehicle to stop, but it continued moving. Her family then allegedly drove ahead to block the car, forcing it to halt. A heated argument immediately erupted when the woman demanded that her husband return home with her.
The complainant further asserted that her husband and the woman accompanying him verbally abused her and her sons, which quickly escalated into a physical scuffle. She claimed she was violently pushed to the ground after her hair was pulled, she was slapped multiple times, and she was assaulted. Her sons were also allegedly beaten during the confrontation before a relative intervened to separate the groups.
Counter Complaint: Allegations of Interception and Violence
In a counter complaint filed with the Bodakdev police, the second woman presented a different version of events. She stated that she and her friend were returning from Bhavnagar after visiting a temple when their car was suddenly intercepted near the Hebatpur cut on the SP Ring Road.
She alleged that the other group stopped their vehicle, subjected them to verbal abuse, and then physically assaulted them. According to her complaint, she was dragged out of the car by her hair, slapped repeatedly, and threatened during the altercation. Her eight-year-old son was also allegedly pushed and slapped during the incident.
The man accompanying her was reportedly beaten by the complainant's son and his friends, according to the counter complaint. Both complaints detail serious allegations of violence and abuse that occurred during the late-night confrontation on the busy SP Ring Road.
