Alwar Land Dispute Turns Fatal: 55-Year-Old Woman Killed in Clash
Alwar Land Dispute Turns Fatal: Woman Killed

A long-standing land dispute between two groups in Alwar district turned deadly on Friday morning, resulting in the death of an elderly woman and leaving nearly a dozen people injured in violent clashes that involved firearms, rods, and stones.

Violence Erupts Over Contested Property

The confrontation occurred in Raysikh Bas village near Mubarikpur and centered around a contentious 3 bigha plot of non-khatedari land that has been the subject of dispute for several weeks. According to police reports, the situation escalated dramatically when armed individuals from both sides engaged in violent combat.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Deepo Bai, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound between her chin and throat during the altercation. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene before medical help could arrive.

Family Members Among the Injured

Deepo Bai's husband, Charan Singh, along with their sons Kuldeep, Kulwant, Angrez, and Balveer Singh all suffered serious injuries to their hands and legs during the violent confrontation. The family members are currently receiving medical treatment at CHC Naugaon.

From the opposing group, Jangir Singh also sustained significant injuries and has been referred to a hospital in Alwar for advanced medical care, according to police authorities.

Background of the Land Dispute

According to Kuldeep, son of the deceased woman, the conflict over the land parcel had been ongoing for approximately three weeks. The property was registered in his father Charan Singh's name, but tensions intensified after Jangir Singh allegedly secured a court stay on the entire plot and attempted to claim ownership of all the land.

The situation had shown signs of escalation on Thursday evening when tensions flared between the groups, but local villagers managed to temporarily diffuse the conflict at that time.

Friday Morning Attack Turns Deadly

The violence reached its peak on Friday morning when Jangir Singh arrived with a group of eight individuals armed with guns, sticks, and rods. The armed group launched a direct attack on Charan Singh's home, sparking the deadly confrontation.

The initial clash involved stone-throwing between the groups, which quickly escalated into more violent retaliation. It was during this exchange that Deepo Bai was fatally shot, marking the tragic culmination of the land dispute.

Police Response and Investigation

In response to the violence, Additional SP IPS Sharan Gopinath Kamble arrived at the scene with a police team to take control of the situation. Authorities have identified and detained four individuals for questioning as the investigation continues.

The post-mortem of the deceased has been completed, and both parties involved in the conflict have filed official reports regarding the skirmishes with local law enforcement.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges of land disputes in rural India and the potential for such conflicts to turn violent when proper legal channels are not followed or respected by all parties involved.
