Tragic Discovery in Gurgaon Apartment
A 33-year-old executive employed with American Express was found dead inside his residence at Pyramid Paradise in Sector 76, Gurgaon, on Friday morning. The grim discovery was made by his wife, who had flown in from Mumbai after growing increasingly concerned when he stopped answering her calls.
Marital Strain and Long-Distance Challenges
The couple, who had been married for just four months, resided in separate cities due to their professional commitments. The deceased hailed originally from Kanpur, while his 32-year-old wife is from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. According to police statements, the marriage was under significant strain primarily because the wife, named Sonam, was unable to relocate to the Delhi NCR region for her job with a private firm in Mumbai. This geographical separation led to frequent arguments between the pair.
The Fateful Argument and Unanswered Calls
On Thursday evening, the couple engaged in yet another heated argument over the phone. Following this altercation, the man ceased responding to calls and messages. His wife persistently tried to reach him throughout the night, eventually contacting her mother-in-law to express her mounting worries. The man's mother suggested waiting until morning, speculating that he might simply be asleep.
In a tragic coincidence, the man's grandmother passed away due to natural causes on Thursday night. However, he remained unaware of this family loss as his phone remained unanswered.
Early Morning Flight and Forced Entry
Unable to quell her concerns, the wife boarded an early morning flight to Gurgaon. She arrived at the apartment complex around 6:30 AM on Friday. Finding the flat locked from the inside and receiving no response despite repeated doorbell rings and phone calls, she alerted the building's maintenance staff. The door was subsequently forced open, revealing the heartbreaking scene of her husband having died by suicide.
Police Response and Investigation Details
Law enforcement authorities were notified immediately. Forensic teams and officers from the Kherki Daula police station swiftly arrived at the location. Statements were meticulously recorded from family members, and the body was transported for a postmortem examination.
During preliminary inquiries, police revealed that the deceased had been experiencing considerable stress over the past several months, a condition known to his family. No suicide note was recovered from the premises, and initial investigations showed no indications of foul play.
