Amravati Sex Scandal: Third FIR Registered as Mother of 16-Year-Old Victim Steps Forward
In a significant development in the ongoing Amravati sex scandal, the mother of a 16-year-old girl filed a formal complaint at the Paratwada police station on Monday. This action comes just two days after a survivor from Nagpur provided testimony before the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The fresh First Information Report (FIR) marks the third case registered in this disturbing series of events.
Details of the New Complaint and Accused
The latest FIR has been filed against Uzer Khan, identified as the second accused in the sex abuse case. Khan is alleged to have stalked the 16-year-old girl, who is notably not among the eight previously identified survivors whose explicit photos and videos were recorded and disseminated online. With this new filing, the total number of registered cases has increased to three: two against Uzer Khan and one against the main accused, Ayaan Ahmed.
Amravati SP (Rural) Vishal Anand provided crucial details, stating that Uzer Khan, a 20-year-old resident of Paratwada, was in contact with the minor girl from the same town. After the girl's parents discovered the inappropriate relationship, they warned Khan to cease stalking their daughter. However, police reports indicate that Khan persisted in his online stalking behavior.
"Based on the complaint by the girl's mother, an offence has been registered against Uzer under the POCSO Act and Section 78 BNS for stalking. The SIT is actively supervising the investigation," affirmed SP Anand.
Police Investigation and Survivor Support
Of the eight survivors identified from the illicit videos and photos, only the Nagpur survivor has thus far come forward to file a formal complaint at Paratwada. "We are diligently working to collect corroborative evidence that the key accused exploited minor girls," stated Anand, highlighting the investigative challenges.
In a strong appeal, police have urged other survivors to step forward without succumbing to pressure or fear of social stigma. "We are implementing legal precautions to ensure the complete confidentiality of every survivor's identity. Survivors should not internalize guilt; we are committed to providing psychological support and assistance in all possible ways," emphasized SP Vishal Anand.
He further clarified that survivor statements would be recorded confidentially before a woman magistrate under Section 183 of the BNS, ensuring a sensitive and secure process.
Forensic Analysis and Expanding Investigation
Authorities are currently analyzing digital and forensic data retrieved from seized electronic devices. However, SP Anand declined to disclose specific details to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation. "Revealing such information could adversely affect our police procedures," he explained.
The investigation has broadened significantly, with eight accused currently in custody and an additional ten suspects undergoing interrogation. Anand confirmed that the parents of main accused Ayaan Ahmed have been questioned, and warned that any individuals attempting to assist the accused or their family could face legal charges, given the grave nature of the crimes.
This case continues to unfold as law enforcement intensifies efforts to bring all perpetrators to justice while supporting victims through this traumatic ordeal.
