In a devastating incident on Monday, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shailu Prabha Jayanti Tirkey, posted with the Dumka Criminal Investigation Department (CID), lost her life in a road accident near the ISM gate in Dhanbad. The 36-year-old officer was traveling from Ranchi to Dumka with her husband, Suresh Oraon, on a motorcycle to rejoin duty after a personal visit.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The accident occurred around 1:30 PM when an auto-rickshaw approached from one direction while their motorcycle was coming from the opposite side. In a desperate attempt to avoid a direct collision, the rider lost control of the motorcycle. This caused ASI Tirkey to fall onto the road, where she sustained critical injuries. Local residents acted swiftly, rushing her to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad for emergency treatment.

Despite the prompt medical attention, ASI Shailu Prabha Jayanti Tirkey succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital.
