The tragic events occurred in Gareru village, located within the jurisdiction of the Raunahi police station. According to police reports, the woman, identified as Sanju, was at home with her 27-year-old husband Shiva and their newborn baby while elderly family members had gone to nearby fields to harvest wheat. A dispute reportedly erupted between the couple, escalating into a fatal confrontation.
Investigators stated that Sanju allegedly struck Shiva on the head with a hammer, resulting in his death. Following this, she is said to have locked the room from the outside, leaving Shiva's body and the infant inside before departing the premises. Shortly thereafter, authorities received information about a woman being hit by a train near the Devrakot railway track.
Police Investigation and Recovery of Suicide Note
SP Rural Balwant Chaudhary confirmed that officers identified the deceased woman as Sanju and proceeded to her residence. Upon arrival, they found the house locked from the outside. After breaking the lock, police recovered Shiva's body with severe head injuries and discovered the infant nearby. The baby was immediately rushed for medical care but unfortunately died later, as confirmed by police officials.
A critical piece of evidence emerged with the recovery of a suicide note from Sanju. The note allegedly contains serious accusations of harassment against her husband and in-laws, providing a potential motive for the tragic sequence of events.
