Bank Manager Found Dead with Gunshot Wound in Lucknow Residence
A 40-year-old deputy manager of a private bank was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in the Gudamba area of Lucknow on Monday morning. The victim, identified as Qazi Ahmad Zaid, was found with a gunshot wound to the head from what police described as an alleged illegal pistol.
Discovery of the Body
Qazi Ahmad Zaid was found lying in a pool of blood outside a room on the second floor of his residence in Adil Nagar along Kursi Road. Police officials stated that the incident is believed to have occurred around 5 am, but the family became aware of the situation nearly four hours later.
According to police reports, five to seven family members were present inside the house at the time of the incident, yet none reported hearing any gunshot sound. The body was discovered around 9 am when Zaid's wife, Taiyaba, woke up and found him missing from their bed.
"When she called his phone, it was lying near the bed. On searching further, she reached the second floor and found him lying outside a room in a blood-soaked condition," said Anindya Vikram Singh, a police official involved in the investigation.
Police Investigation and Evidence
Preliminary investigation revealed that the bullet struck Zaid on the right temple and exited from the left side, causing fatal injuries. Police recovered an illegal country-made pistol from the scene of the incident.
Multiple police teams, including the Gudamba station staff led by inspector Prabhatesh Kumar Srivastava, along with forensic experts, thoroughly examined the scene and collected crucial evidence. The investigation is ongoing with both murder and suicide angles being actively pursued.
Family Suspicions and Background
Zaid's elder brother, Qazi Ahmad Aziz, who works as a railway employee, has expressed strong suspicion of foul play in his brother's death. He alleged that unidentified persons may have taken his brother to the terrace and shot him.
"He cannot have died by suicide. We suspect he was murdered," the brother stated emphatically, adding that the family plans to submit a formal complaint after completing the last rites.
However, police officials clarified that no suicide note or immediate evidence pointing conclusively to either murder or suicide has been discovered so far. Both possibilities remain under active investigation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
Victim's Personal and Professional Life
Originally hailing from Mankapur in Gonda district, Qazi Ahmad Zaid had been residing in Lucknow with his extended family, which included his brothers, wife, daughter, and other relatives. He was employed as a deputy manager at a private bank located in Aliganj, where he had established his professional career.
The mysterious nature of the incident has left both family members and investigators searching for answers, with police continuing their probe into all possible angles of this tragic event.
