Police Raid in Barwaha Leads to Arrests in Alleged Flesh Trade Racket
In a significant operation, police in Khargone district conducted a raid on a rented room in Barwaha town. The raid took place on Sunday in the Daluka market area. Authorities arrested a woman who was allegedly running a flesh trade racket. A man was also taken into custody during the same operation.
Tip-Off Leads to Swift Police Action
Barwaha police station in-charge BR Rathore provided details to the media. He stated that the police had received specific information about immoral activities occurring from a rented room in Daluka market. Acting promptly on this tip, a dedicated police team organized and executed a raid at the location.
The raid uncovered the alleged illegal operation. Police found the woman, a resident of Sanawad, actively operating the racket. Inside the room, they also discovered two other women who had traveled from West Bengal. Additionally, a man from Bedia was present. All individuals were found in compromising positions, according to police reports.
Legal Charges and Seizures Made
Following the raid, police registered a formal case. The charges fall under Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956. This legislation aims to prevent and combat immoral trafficking and related activities.
Officers seized several items from the spot as evidence. These included cash that was allegedly earned from the illegal activities. Police also confiscated mobile phones and other objectionable materials found during the search.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
BR Rathore confirmed the arrests made in connection with the case. The woman from Sanawad, accused of operating the racket, was arrested. The male accused, who hails from Bedia, was also taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover further details about the racket's operations and potential networks.
