Barwani Murder: Five Arrested for Killing Man Over Alleged Molestation
Barwani: Five relatives arrested for murder over molestation

In a shocking case from Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district, the Rajpur police have apprehended five individuals, including close family members, for the brutal murder of a 40-year-old man. The crime, which occurred last month, was reportedly motivated by an alleged act of molestation and an unresolved financial dispute.

The Disappearance and Grisly Discovery

The sequence of events began when Jukhlibai, the wife of the deceased Karam Singh Senani, approached the Rajpur police station on December 27, 2025. She filed a complaint stating that her husband had left for his daily wage work on December 24 but never returned home. Acting on her report, the police registered a missing person case and launched a search operation.

The investigation took a grim turn on January 2, 2026, when Senani's body was discovered concealed inside a culvert pipe along the roadside in the Chindi Ghat valley. Upon examination, authorities found multiple serious injury marks on the corpse, indicating a violent assault.

Investigation Unravels a Tale of Revenge

Additional Superintendent of Police Dheeraj Babbar revealed the motive behind the killing. During the probe, it was uncovered that Senani had borrowed Rs 15,000 from a female relative and had failed to repay the amount. When the woman went to Senani's home to demand her money back, he not only refused but also allegedly molested her.

Traumatized, the woman returned and narrated the incident to her husband. Enraged by the act, the husband then conspired with others to exact revenge. They devised a plan to lure Senani to his death.

Arrests and Chilling Confession

Following intensive investigation, the Rajpur police team arrested five accused, all residents of Sendhwa Rural. The arrested individuals are:

  • Somariya Senani (the victim's own father)
  • Sitaram (the victim's brother-in-law)
  • Shobharam and Bhaya Ram (Sitaram's cousins)
  • Radheshyam Chauhan

During interrogation, the accused confessed to their crime. They stated that as per their plan, Senani was called to Ghagarkheda. From there, he was taken to a secluded forest area behind the Chindi Ghat temple. In this isolated spot, the group attacked Senani, killing him with stones and a knife. To hide the evidence, they stuffed his body into the culvert pipe where it was later found.

The police have seized the murder weapon, a knife, and a motorcycle used in the commission of the crime. All the accused were presented before a local court on Wednesday and have been remanded to judicial custody as the legal process begins.

This tragic incident highlights how a personal dispute escalated into a fatal act of vigilante violence, resulting in the loss of a life and the arrest of multiple family members, including the victim's father.
