Upon reaching their residential society in Sector 68, two relatives tried to block the SUV, but the driver accelerated towards them, attempting to run them over.

Inspector Aman Baidwan, SHO of Phase XI police station, confirmed the arrests. He stated that Constable Gurpinder Singh is based in Bathinda, and the police have requested his posting details from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). The identity of the second suspect is being verified. No weapon was found on the constable at the time of the incident, but a uniform was visible in the vehicle. The victim has not yet recorded her statement.
