Begusarai Sand Mining Mafia Allegedly Kills Man in Brutal Attack
In a shocking incident in Begusarai district, a 35-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death by criminals associated with illegal sand mining activities. The tragic event occurred on Tuesday in Mohanpur village, under the jurisdiction of the Begusarai mufassil police station.
Victim Identified as Mohd Wakil
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Wakil, also known as Makhiya. He was the brother-in-law of Mohd Jahangir, who serves as the local chowkidar in the neighboring Killi village. According to family members, Wakil was targeted due to suspicions that he acted as an informer for the police, reporting on illegal activities such as sand mining and liquor smuggling.
Details of the Fatal Assault
A family member of the victim provided a harrowing account of the incident. "Wakil was on his way to a small shop in Mohanpur village when the miscreants forcibly pulled him inside a vehicle," they stated. "They later shot him in his legs and then beat him mercilessly, leading to his death. The criminals had threatened to eliminate him a few weeks ago when I accompanied him to Mohanpur to settle a dispute related to these illegal activities."
The attack is believed to be a direct result of Wakil's alleged role in conveying information to law enforcement about the criminal operations in the area.
