Begusarai Youth Found Dead in Suspected Gang Rivalry Murder
The body of a 20-year-old youth was recovered under suspicious circumstances from Paspura village in the Begusarai Mufassil police station area on Saturday. The incident has sparked a police investigation into what appears to be a potential gang-related killing.
Victim Identified as Mohd Masoom
Begusarai Mufassil SHO Divakar Kumar confirmed that the deceased was identified as Mohd Masoom, a resident of Phulwaria village. According to police reports, Masoom had a criminal background, being a member of a liquor smuggling gang and linked to activities involving drugging rail passengers. He had been jailed multiple times and was released only a month prior to his death.
Details of the Incident
Masoom's father, Mohd Haroon, stated that his son had gone to visit his maternal grandparents in Paspura village on Friday. He failed to return by late evening and stopped responding to phone calls after 6 PM. Locals discovered his body on Saturday morning, with injury marks on his head and his motorcycle lying over him, indicating a violent altercation.
Haroon further revealed that a few days earlier, some criminals had assaulted Masoom at their home, suggesting ongoing threats. Police are investigating the possibility that his murder was a result of internal gang rivalry, given his involvement in criminal networks.

Authorities are treating the case as a suspected homicide, with SHO Divakar Kumar emphasizing Masoom's criminal antecedents as a key factor. The police are exploring all angles, including connections to gang conflicts and previous assaults, to determine the exact cause of death and identify the perpetrators.
