The Central Crime Branch's special investigation wing conducted a raid on an illegal horse race betting operation in Jyotinagar, west Bengaluru, leading to the arrest of a 65-year-old bookie. The accused, identified as P Sheshadri, was accepting bets from punters through both cash and online transactions.

Racket Operated from Residential Building

According to police, Sheshadri was running the racket from a room on the third floor of a residential building. He was accepting bets on horse races without any valid licence and engaging in gambling activities using multiple mobile phones and bank accounts.

Seized Items and Evidence

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized four mobile phones, a tablet device, a calculator, pens, and 15 sheets containing details of horse races and betting records. Investigators discovered that some of the confiscated phones were linked to bank accounts used for processing betting transactions.
