According to police, the father, identified as a 30-year-old daily wage worker, had an argument with his wife over a trivial matter. In anger, he grabbed the infant and threw her onto the floor. The child sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival.
The initial complaint filed by the mother did not raise suspicion, and the father was not taken into custody. However, the post-mortem examination revealed internal injuries consistent with a violent impact, prompting the police to arrest the father on June 12.

The accused has been charged under Sections 302 (murder) and 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. He is currently in judicial custody. The mother has been provided with counseling and support by local authorities.
