A man was arrested in Bengaluru for running an unlicensed home bar and selling liquor at inflated prices. The accused, identified as Ravi Kumar, was operating the illegal establishment from his residence in the city's outskirts.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the premises late Tuesday night. They seized a significant quantity of liquor, including whisky, rum, and beer, along with cash amounting to Rs 50,000. The liquor was being sold at prices 30-40% higher than the maximum retail price (MRP).
Modus Operandi
Kumar had converted a portion of his home into a makeshift bar, complete with seating arrangements and a counter. He sourced liquor from wholesale markets and sold it to local residents and visitors, often late at night. The operation had been running for several months without any license or permit.
Legal Action: The police have registered a case under the Karnataka Excise Act and arrested Kumar. He was produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway to trace his suppliers and any accomplices.
