Bengaluru Teen and Mother Arrested for Brutal Double Murder in Alleged Love Triangle

A shocking case of violence unfolded in Bengaluru's HMT Layout, Peenya, on Thursday, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals. A 16-year-old boy and his homemaker mother have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 36-year-old woman, Yamuna Mallegowda, and her 34-year-old brother, Sudeep, to death in their own home. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, is reportedly linked to an extramarital affair involving the boy's mother and Yamuna's husband, Mallegowda, a businessman.

Police Investigation Reveals Motive and Details

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) DL Nagesh confirmed the arrests, stating that while the minor attacked the victims with a knife, the mother's role is strongly suspected. "It is true the minor attacked the victims with the knife. But the question is, from where was the knife taken? And what was the boy's mother doing when her son attacked and killed the victims? We strongly suspect her role. Therefore, we arrested them and are questioning them," Nagesh explained. Preliminary investigations indicate that the affair had led to repeated conflicts between the two families, with a police report filed just last month.

Chilling Sequence of Events Unfolds

According to police accounts, the violence erupted on Thursday morning around 9:30 AM. The boy's mother allegedly called Yamuna on her mobile phone, urgently requesting her to come to their house. Yamuna, perhaps sensing trouble, decided to bring her younger brother, Sudeep, along for support. Upon arrival, a heated argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation. As tempers flared, neighbors heard screams and rushed into the house, finding the door slightly open. To their horror, they discovered Yamuna and Sudeep lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds, including a knife left embedded in Yamuna's back.
