Bengaluru Teen Murder Case: Fiance Nabbed in Rajasthan After Intensive Search

In a significant development in a chilling murder case, Bengaluru police have apprehended the prime suspect, a 25-year-old man, in Rajasthan's Ajmer district. The arrest comes nearly a week after the brutal killing of a 16-year-old girl in a desolate house located in the DJ Halli area of the city.

Key Breakthrough in DJ Halli Homicide Investigation

The accused, identified as Syed Sabeel, a resident of Kushalnagar in KG Halli, had been evading authorities since the incident unfolded. Law enforcement officials successfully tracked him down to Ajmer and executed the arrest. Authorities are now in the process of securing a transit warrant to bring Sabeel back to Bengaluru for comprehensive interrogation and further legal proceedings.

Details of the Tragic Incident Emerge

The victim, Joya Fathima, hailing from Kolar district, was discovered on March 17 with a fatal slit to her throat inside a dilapidated property reportedly owned by Sabeel's family. This abandoned house in DJ Halli was known to serve as a clandestine meeting spot for the young couple.

Fathima regularly visited her aunt, Vajeeda Begum, in DJ Halli, where she developed a relationship with Sabeel, who assists his father in operating an onion shop. Subsequently, both families formalized their engagement in June of the previous year.

Escalating Tensions and Discovery of the Crime

However, sources indicate that tensions arose after Fathima continued to meet Sabeel secretly. On the morning of March 17, Fathima went missing from her aunt's residence, leaving her phone behind, which immediately triggered alarm among family members. Attempts to reach Sabeel proved futile.

Acting on a crucial tip-off from Sabeel's mother, Vajeeda rushed to the deserted house where the couple typically met. Inside, she made the horrifying discovery of Fathima lying in a pool of blood, suffering from a severe throat injury.

Police Investigation and Pending Interrogation

Preliminary investigations revealed that the last call from Fathima's phone was directed to Sabeel. A police officer involved in the case stated that the accused has not yet been interrogated to determine the motive behind the murder. "Once he is brought to the city, he will be taken into police custody and questioned in detail," the officer emphasized.

This arrest marks a pivotal step forward in unraveling the circumstances surrounding this tragic event, as authorities work diligently to piece together the sequence of events and establish justice for the victim.
