According to the police report, the victims were identified as Jyoti, who was riding the scooter, and Kasturi, who was seated as a pillion rider. The duo had visited a friend's house in Narela Shankari for some work and were returning to Pushpa Nagar when the attack occurred. Kasturi had her side bag hanging on her shoulder as they traveled.
As they reached the main road in front of the water tank near TRT market, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle swiftly snatched Kasturi's bag. The sudden force of the snatching caused the Activa scooter to become unbalanced, leading both women to fall onto the road. The impact of the fall resulted in significant injuries for both victims.
Injuries Sustained and Immediate Response
Jyoti sustained injuries to her right shoulder, while Kasturi suffered more severe injuries, including a head injury and damage to her right hand. Passersby at the scene quickly intervened, admitting both women to a private hospital for urgent medical treatment. The snatched bag contained Rs 1200 in cash and a mobile phone, adding to the victims' distress. Despite the chaos, Jyoti was unable to note the motorcycle's registration number, complicating the identification of the perpetrators.
