A shocking incident of violence unfolded at a dental clinic in Bhopal on Thursday afternoon, where a dentist was allegedly assaulted and his property vandalised by a patient and an associate. The attack, which took place in the Lalita Nagar area under the jurisdiction of Kolar police station, has raised serious concerns about the safety of medical professionals.
The Violent Altercation at the Clinic
According to the police complaint, the victim, Dr MF Haq, a resident of Koh-e-Fiza, runs his dental practice in Lalita Nagar. On the afternoon of Thursday, he was attending to patients when a man identified as Saurabh Yadav arrived with a companion. The duo demanded immediate treatment, bypassing the existing queue.
Dr Haq reportedly explained that another patient was already undergoing treatment and that Saurabh Yadav's turn would come next. This response, however, allegedly triggered the accused. Saurabh Yadav began misbehaving with the doctor. When Dr Haq objected to this unruly behaviour, the situation quickly escalated into physical violence.
Assault and Vandalism
The patient and his associate are accused of physically assaulting the dentist right inside his clinic. The altercation did not stop there. In a fit of rage, the accused also vandalised the clinic premises. They smashed the glass panels of the clinic, causing significant damage to the property and creating a scene of chaos.
The incident left the medical practitioner shaken and the clinic in a state of disarray. Such acts of aggression not only harm individuals but also disrupt essential healthcare services for the community.
Police Action and Case Registered
Acting promptly on the formal complaint lodged by Dr MF Haq, the Kolar police have registered a case against the accused. The charges have been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to assault and vandalism. An investigation is currently underway to apprehend the individuals involved and ascertain the complete sequence of events.
