In a shocking incident from Madhya Pradesh's capital, a young farmer was forcibly taken from his village and subjected to a brutal assault by three acquaintances. The Gunga police have launched a manhunt after registering a case of abduction and assault based on the victim's complaint.
Night of Terror: Abduction and Assault
The victim, identified as Brijesh Thakur, a 32-year-old resident of Bhainskheda village in the Gunga area, makes his living through farming and private work. According to the police complaint, the nightmare began on the night of January 5. The three accused—Rahul Jat, Makhan Thakur, and Santosh Ahirwar—who are known to Brijesh, arrived at his village in an SUV. Rahul Jat is a resident of the nearby Kotra Chopda village.
Police stated that the group consumed liquor together. The situation turned violent around 11:30 PM when Rahul Jat allegedly accused Brijesh of visiting his house and misbehaving with his wife. When Brijesh denied the allegation, Rahul became enraged. The trio then forcibly made him sit in their SUV and drove him away from his village.
Ordeal Across the City: A Brutal Beating
The accused first took Brijesh to the Jail Road area, where they assaulted him with sticks. Not satisfied, they later took him to the Bhanpur area and beat him again. His harrowing ordeal lasted through the night until approximately 5:30 AM on January 6, when the accused abandoned him in Bhanpur and fled the scene.
Complicating the search, Brijesh did not have a mobile phone with him. His worried family members searched for him throughout the night and, failing to locate him, approached the Gunga police station later on January 6 to file a missing person report.
Rescue and Police Action
Later that evening, around 6 PM, Brijesh managed to borrow a mobile phone from a passer-by and contacted his family. He informed them of his location in Bhanpur and the assault he had suffered. The family immediately rushed to the spot and admitted him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Acting on the victim's formal complaint, Gunga Station House Officer (SHO) Krishna Singh Thakur confirmed that a case has been registered against the three accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for abduction and assault. Police efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest Rahul Jat, Makhan Thakur, and Santosh Ahirwar.
The incident has raised concerns in the local community, highlighting the vulnerability of individuals in remote villages. The police investigation is ongoing to uncover the full motive behind the violent attack.
