Bhopal Security Agency Accused of Duping Job-Seeking Youths in Elaborate Fraud

In a distressing incident from Bhopal, a private security agency operating from a building in the MP Nagar area has allegedly defrauded more than two dozen young job seekers before abruptly fleeing. The MP Nagar police, acting on a formal complaint filed by a woman, registered a case of fraud on Friday against 11 accused individuals under various sections pertaining to cheating and fraudulent activities.

Complainant's Harrowing Experience with the Fraudulent Firm

The complainant, identified as Neha, detailed a systematic deception that began on January 22 when she received a call from a woman named Deepika, who invited her for an HR recruitment interview. The following day, Neha attended the interview at the company's office located in a complex in Zone-1 of MP Nagar, where she was interviewed by an HR executive named Ritu.

During the initial stages, Neha was required to pay Rs 550 in cash as a registration fee. Subsequently, on January 28, she was called for joining and was again asked to pay Rs 3,750 for a job card. She was informed that she had been appointed to an HR recruitment role, which primarily involved tele-calling duties.

Strict Recruitment Targets and Sudden Disappearance

From January 28 to February 16, Neha worked for the company, during which she was assigned a stringent target to recruit 26 candidates within a single month. She managed to recruit nine individuals before growing suspicious of the company's operations. Upon realizing potential fraudulent activities, Neha approached HR executive Ritu to request a refund and express her intention to resign.

She was instructed to return on February 27 to collect her money, as the senior officer was reportedly unavailable. On that date, Neha was made to write a refund application and discovered other employees also demanding refunds. The company had similarly collected Rs 500 as an application fee and approximately Rs 3,500 as a security deposit from these individuals.

Office Locked and Police Complaint Filed

The situation escalated when Neha visited the office again on February 17, only to find it locked and abandoned. Following this discovery, she promptly approached the MP Nagar police station and lodged a formal complaint. The police have since registered a case against key figures including Alok Srivastava, Ritu, and nine other company employees under relevant legal sections for cheating and fraud.

Authorities suspect that numerous other youths may have fallen victim to similar schemes under the guise of job offers. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities faced by job seekers in the current economic climate and underscores the importance of vigilance when dealing with recruitment agencies.
