Bhopal: Minor Boy Abducted and Brutally Assaulted After Holi Celebrations in Kolar
A shocking incident of violence has emerged from Bhopal, where a minor boy was allegedly abducted and brutally assaulted by a group of youths shortly after Holi celebrations. The 17-year-old victim, who works at a garment shop, sustained severe injuries to his hands and legs and is currently undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital.
Details of the Alleged Abduction and Assault
According to police reports, the incident occurred on March 4, which was Holi day. The teenager had gone out with friends to celebrate the festival. Around 1:30 PM, while he was passing near the Banskhedi Culvert in Kolar, more than six youths arrived on two to three motorcycles and in a car.
The accused allegedly confronted the boy, accusing him of acting "over-smart" and being seen with a person with whom they had an old rivalry. They then forcibly pushed him into their car and drove him to a deserted spot near Soumya Green Colony.
At this secluded location, the group brutally assaulted the minor with sticks and belts, causing serious injuries to his hands, legs, and other parts of his body. After the beating, the attackers fled the scene, leaving the injured boy behind.
Hospitalization and Police Investigation
Later, one of the victim's acquaintances used his mobile phone to inform his family about the injuries. A second call followed shortly, urging them to reach the Community Health Centre as his condition was serious.
The boy's mother, sister, and other relatives rushed to the hospital, where the teenager revealed that he had been assaulted. After receiving primary treatment, doctors referred him to Hamidia Hospital for further care.
Initially, when the boy was taken to the Kolar hospital, it was reported that he had been injured in a motorcycle fall. However, after the family arrived and the victim provided his account, the true nature of the incident emerged.
Kolar Police registered a case on Thursday based on a complaint filed by the injured boy's sister. The case has been filed against more than half a dozen accused, identified as Nikki, Akash, Tilak, Divyansh, Nanna, Ajay, and Aman, on charges of assault.
Current Status and Police Action
Police confirmed that the victim sustained serious injuries to both legs and his right hand. Kolar SHO Sanjay Soni stated that a search operation is currently underway to apprehend the accused individuals involved in this brutal attack.
The incident has raised concerns about public safety and violence against minors in the area, particularly during festival periods when such gatherings occur. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack and the relationships between the involved parties.
