Bhopal: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old farmer on Tuesday afternoon when a speeding truck allegedly rammed his motorcycle on the Bhopal-Indore bypass at Kalyanpur railway overbridge under Sukhi Sewania police station limits. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene after the collision.
Victim Identified
The deceased has been identified as Harinarayan Gurjar, 30, a resident of Devbarkhedi village in Nazirabad area. He was engaged in farming and had left his village for Bhopal on Tuesday. His wife was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Anand Nagar, and he had gone to bring her medicines.
Accident Details
According to police, the accident occurred around 1:30 pm when Harinarayan was crossing the Kalyanpur ROB on the Bhopal-Indore bypass. A speeding truck coming from behind allegedly hit his motorcycle, causing fatal injuries. He died on the spot.
A passerby informed the victim's brother, Chander Singh Gurjar, about the accident. Family members later reached the spot and shifted the body to Hamidia Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police Investigation
Police said the truck driver fled after the crash, leaving the vehicle behind. The truck has been seized, and a case has been registered against the unidentified driver for rash and negligent driving. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation is in progress.
