Bihar Police FIR Against Constables in Viral Pistol Dance

In a shocking incident that has raised serious questions about police discipline, Bettiah police have registered an FIR against three individuals, including two police constables, after a video showing a woman dancer brandishing a pistol went viral across West Champaran district.

The Viral Video and Police Response

The controversy erupted when a video surfaced on social media platforms on Thursday, showing a woman dancer waving a pistol while performing at a celebration. Bettiah SDPO Vivek Deep confirmed that police took immediate action upon discovering the viral content. "Taking the incident seriously, police launched an investigation," stated SDPO Deep, highlighting the urgency with which authorities approached the matter.

The police investigation revealed crucial details about the circumstances surrounding the video. The incident occurred during the night of November 26 in Rampur Bairagi village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mufussil police station. The celebration was organized for a child's "chhathihar" - a traditional ceremony held on the sixth day after a baby's birth.

Identities and Connections Revealed

Police have identified the three accused as Amit Chaudhary, Anmol Tiwari, and Munna Chaudhary. The involvement of two serving police officers has particularly concerned authorities. Amit Chaudhary serves as a constable posted at the Kuchaykot police station in Gopalganj district, while Anmol Tiwari works as a constable in the fire department at the same police station.

Investigators uncovered that the two constables had attended a celebration at the house of Munna Chaudhary, who happens to be a relative of constable Amit Chaudhary. The dancer who features prominently in the viral video had been specially invited for the event. During her performance, the woman was seen openly brandishing the pistol while all three accused danced alongside her.

Legal Action and Potential Consequences

Authorities have raised serious concerns about the origin of the weapon shown in the video. Preliminary investigations suggest that the pistol may have been a government-issued weapon, adding gravity to the offense. As a result, police have lodged the FIR under sections related to the misuse of government arms along with other relevant provisions of the Arms Act.

SDPO Vivek Deep provided updates on the ongoing action, stating, "Police are trying to arrest the accused. If the allegation of brandishing a govt pistol is proven true, departmental action will be initiated against both constables." This statement indicates that beyond legal proceedings, the constables could face severe professional consequences including suspension or dismissal from service.

The case has drawn significant public attention in West Champaran district, with many residents expressing concern about police conduct and weapon safety protocols. Local authorities have assured thorough investigation into the matter to ensure appropriate action against all involved parties.
